CB Insights has named HelixIntel to its 2026 Insurtech 50, the firm’s fifth annual list of the most promising insurtech startups. HelixIntel was placed in the Risk Signals & Data category.
“The 2026 Insurtech 50 reveals the top startups shaking up the insurance industry’s status quo,” said Chris Sekerak, Lead Analyst at CB Insights. “The common thread across the cohort is the ability to scale differentiated businesses that are unlikely to be displaced by large AI or insurance companies.”
CB Insights selected the 50 winners from more than 6,000 insurtech companies using deal activity, industry partnerships, investor strength, hiring momentum, revenue, and its proprietary Mosaic Score and Commercial Maturity metrics. Exited insurtechs were excluded from consideration.
In the year following the 2025 list, that cohort raised $1.32 billion, roughly 19% of global insurtech funding over the same period.
What the category means
CB Insights classifies winners across 13 categories by core offering. HelixIntel was placed under Risk Signals & Data rather than operational platforms, meaning maintenance activity was treated as risk information rather than software.
“Insurers did not ask us for maintenance software,” said Jon DeWald, CEO and co-founder of HelixIntel. “They asked what the maintenance work happening inside the properties they insure could tell them about the risk. Answering that meant putting insurers and maintenance teams on a connected system.”
HelixCMMS is the system maintenance teams use to run their properties. HelixPrevent turns that activity into portfolio-level insights for the insurance partner, continuously rather than at inspection or renewal.
